Take the Caterham Valley Pancake Challenge this Flippin’ February
To banish those winter blues, the Caterham Valley Pancake Challenge is set to bring some light-hearted fun and games to our digital world next month.
In the lead up to Shrove Tuesday, keep an eye on Caterham Valley For You’s Facebook page and you might just spot some of your favourite local business people exhibiting their pancake flipping efforts.
While Guinness World Records are unlikely to fall in the build-up to Tuesday February 13 and there are no prizes on offer, there are sure to be plenty of laughs along the way.
If you think you can do better than our eager ‘champions’, make sure to film your attempts to flip a pancake as many times as possible in 10 seconds – and then share the videos with us on social media. The Ice Bucket Challenge has got nothing on a bit of flour, egg and milk.

Ultimate Caterham Valley Pancake
To add an extra twist to the traditional Pancake Day festivities, Caterham Valley For You has also been asking local businesses to concoct their alternative recipes.
Including a few of the town’s more exotic restaurants, these recipes will feature in an online guide over the next week or two, and hopefully provide some inspiration for the big day itself. Jamie Oliver, Delia Smith and Tom Kerridge could learn a thing or two from this lot!
If you attempt any of the recipes featured, we’d love to see your pictures on social media (make sure to tag us so we see them!) or, alternatively, use the contacts page to send us your pics and favourite family recipes.
Whether you’re a sweet or savoury pancake person 365 days of the year or save yourself for Shrove Tuesday, pick up your plain flour, eggs, semi-skimmed milk and oil and have fun with your creations. Can you create the Ultimate Caterham Valley Pancake?!
