Colour Caterham – calling local artists to add a splash of colour to Caterham Valley
COLOUR CATERHAM POSTPONED
It is with regret that in light of the current COVID19 situation, we have taken the decision to postpone Colour Caterham. We would like to thank all the businesses who had already come forward to get involved in Colour Caterham activities and all Caterham residents and artists who had shown such an interest. We are not in a position to know when we may be able to re-run the initiative but will keep you updated.

Children’s Colouring Competition
We want to carry on its spirit online and help bring a little positivity to the community at this difficult time.
We know that many children had already completed colouring competition forms or were in the process of completing them.
If parents want to take a photo of their efforts and share them with us on Facebook with their name and age, we’ll put them all together in a Colour Caterham art gallery.

Caterham Valley’s Colour Caterham initiative will be making a splash once again this Easter.
In addition to colourful knitting installations in the town centre and children’s artwork displayed in shop windows, this year local artists are invited to get involved and provide their own unique and colourful interpretation of Caterham.
When?
On Saturday April 4, the chosen ‘Caterham 7’ artists in residence will take up their allocated positions in the town (there will be inside and outside options – depending on the weather) where they will remain ‘in situ’ between 10am and 2pm. Artists can use whatever materials they choose (canvas/paper/oils/acrylics/water colours etc), so long as their piece is no larger than 120cm. They will then have until Tuesday April 7 to complete their pieces and deliver them to Caterham Galleries.
Winning Caterham artwork
All entries will be photographed and displayed on the Caterham Valley For You (CVFY) website and across our social media channels. The public will then be asked to vote for an overall winner. The winner will have their artwork professionally framed and displayed in our town. What’s more, the winning artist will be interviewed by a professional writer and the interview shared widely, including on the CVFY website. This will be an excellent opportunity for the artist to increase their profile.
How to apply
If you’d like to be an artist in residence on Saturday April 4 and be in with a chance of being our art competition winner, please contact Caterham Valley For You via the email address info@marketplace.uk.com as soon as possible.
