Wingate hosts charity run for Surrey’s Young Epilepsy
Long-standing supporters of Young Epilepsy, a Surrey-based charity working exclusively on behalf of children and young people with epilepsy, Caterham Valley’s Wingate Group is set to host a charity run on Sunday October 27.
The StarRun will feature a number of distances to suit all ages and abilities, with a chip timed 5km or 10km trail run around Young Epilepsy’s beautiful campus at St Piers School and College, in Lingfield, or a closed road 0.5km loop ‘fun run’, walk or push for those who prefer shorter distances.
“We wanted to create a fun and inclusive annual event to raise funds for Young Epilepsy’s great work across the UK and to help raise their profile locally,” says Wingate’s Paul Weeks.
“This is a family friendly event with an emphasis on fun, and all participants will receive a bespoke StarRun medal. It’s going to be brilliant, and we hope people will donate generously and enjoy the day.”
As the event is funded by the Wingate Group, there are no entry fees, but donations towards the charity are encouraged to help raise as much money as possible.
The suggested donations for the charity run, which starts at 9am, are as follows: 10km (£20/£15 for students or OAPs); 5km (£15/£10 for students or OAPs); and fun run walk or push (£5).
All entry donations (and any additional income from fundraising) will go directly to the Young Epilepsy charity and their work in Surrey and further afield.
Good luck to everyone taking part and we hope you have a wonderful day.
