Wedding planning
As Colour Caterham fades away, the celebrations continue this month with a certain royal wedding set to capture international imaginations on Saturday May 19.
While Prince Harry and Meghan have half the nation helping with their preparations, did you know that Caterham Valley also has all the expertise you need to make your nuptials extra special?
Before we get on to the shops found on our streets, however, there are a couple of events coming up that may appeal to couples and royal wedding fans alike.
Wedding fair
First up at The Soper Hall on Sunday May 6, from 11am to 4pm, they are hosting a wedding fair featuring a number of Caterham Valley businesses, including Helena Fortley, Caterham Photography and Floral Gallery.
Overall, there will be 27 exhibitors across the three halls and entry is free, including a glass of prosecco and goodie bags for the first 50 visitors.
Then, to mark Harry and Meghan’s big day itself, Church Walk Shopping Centre is hosting a Royal Wedding Tea Party on Saturday May 19, from 12 noon to 2pm.
This free family fun event invites children to decorate cakes, add jam or butter to scones and make cucumber sandwiches before sitting down to enjoy their delights or take them home in a box.
If you’re doing anything special in Caterham Valley for the royal wedding, do make sure to let us know on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram feeds.
Valley highlights
Back to what’s on offer in Caterham Valley day-to-day and did you know that, as well as our many fantastic jewellers and hair and beauty salons, we have not one but two go-to wedding destinations?
Namely, Helena Fortley bridal boutique and The Wedding Lookbook.
At Helena Fortley, it’s all about the dresses and they’ve got some stunning designs that are sure to catch your eye. Recently showcased in the national Prima magazine, make sure to keep an eye out for their next exclusive events as they are always a hot ticket.
From dresses to venues, The Wedding Lookbook meanwhile is able to put together one-stop shop packages to take away some of the trepidation and stress for couples organising their big day. If they can’t help you with it, it’s probably not worth worrying about anyway.
Added sparkle
We shouldn’t forget Caterham Photography either, as they are experts at making sure the emotions of the occasion are captured perfectly for your family photo albums. Tell the relatives to leave the phones at home, relax and enjoy yourselves with the professionals.
Finally, if you’re still looking to pop the question, then with two branches of JJ Browne & Son, Berringtons Jewellers, Infinity Jewellers and Rumsey’s Fine Jewellery, Caterham Valley really is a gem.
Whether you’re looking forward to the royal wedding or your own special day, we hope the sun shines and you have a fantastic time.
