Keeping Cosy in Style this Autumn
Seeking inspiration for the new season, we caught up with Sharlene from C+B by Sharlene and Katie from Bow Butterfly for their autumnal style recommendations and tips for keeping cosy at home as the temperature drops.
C+B by Sharlene
Sharlene runs an interiors store in Caterham Valley, which recently celebrated its second birthday! C+B by Sharlene specialises in ready-made and bespoke blinds, curtains, and soft furnishings. She loves helping people create homes that feel unique and cosy, whatever their budget.
When asked about her tips for keeping cosy this Autumn, she explained it’s all about creating warmth and comfort without overdoing the heating.
“I always recommend having a few cosy throws and blankets on hand—perfect for snuggling up while keeping energy bills in check. Layering your home with cushions, soft fabrics, and knitted textures instantly adds warmth, while rich autumnal colours like burnt orange, caramel, chocolate brown, and warm neutrals make a space feel inviting.”
Draft excluders are also a great seasonal addition. Sharlene stocks some lovely, heavy, sand-filled options in-store that really help block cold drafts, keeping your home snug and cosy.
Visit C+B by Sharlene for a beautiful selection of throws, cushions, and accessories in-store perfect for this season. You can find C+B by Sharlene at 6 Godstone Road, or online here.
Bow Butterfly
Katie runs an independent women’s fashion boutique that has styled Caterham Valley for over 16 years. Bow Butterfly sells a wide range of women’s clothing, handbags, jewellery and other accessories – there’s something for all ages and tastes.
Katie shared her insights on this year’s autumnal fashion: think The Traitors, and Claudia Winkleman’s iconic style. That means lots of tartans, tweeds, velvet and satin, and plenty of layering. Scarves and cable knits are also trending this Autumn
Katie singles out chocolate brown as this season’s colour, and suggests mixing it with cow print for a unique look. Visit Bow Butterfly today for some friendly fashion advice, and to give your wardrobe a seasonal sprucing.
You can find Bow Butterfly at 4 Godstone Road, or online at here.
