The first Lidl GB store opened its doors in 1994 and 29 years later, they now have more than 970 stores and 14 regional distribution centres across Britain, employing over 31,000 people.
On Thursday 12 December, Lidl officially opened its doors in Caterham Valley, bringing fresh energy to a site that has stood empty for 25 years. The site is a vibrant mixed-use development with much-needed housing on the upper levels with 48 apartments, while Lidl occupies the ground floor – set above a 2.5 storey basement car park with 60 spaces reserved for Lidl customers.
