Caterham Valley businesses vote YES to another five years of Caterham Valley for You

We are delighted to announce that Caterham Valley has voted YES to another five years of Caterham Valley for You!

The ballot has been successful, achieving the required majority in both the number of votes cast and the total rateable value of those voting. Of the businesses that voted, 73% voted in favour of the BID, representing 90% of the total rateable value of those who voted.

This is fantastic news for Caterham Valley and a real vote of confidence in the work of the BID, the progress we have made and our ambitions for the future.

On behalf of the BID Board, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who took the time to vote and particularly to those who supported our proposals.

Your vote means that we can continue to build on the progress already made, champion the interests of our businesses and invest in making Caterham Valley a cleaner, safer, more attractive and vibrant place to work, shop and visit.

Over the next five years, we will be focused on delivering the commitments set out in our new Business Plan, including:

• Parking and Access: Working to improve parking arrangements, accessibility and the experience of visiting our town centre.
• Clean, Safe and Attractive: Continuing to improve our streets, tackle crime and enhance the appearance of Caterham Valley.
• Promoting Caterham Valley: Raising the profile of our businesses, attracting visitors and encouraging people to shop and spend locally.
• Stronger Together: Creating opportunities for businesses to connect, collaborate and benefit from shared initiatives.
• Business Voice and Advocacy: Representing your interests and ensuring businesses have a strong voice with local authorities and other decision-makers.

We recognise that not everyone will have voted in favour, and we remain committed to listening to and representing all businesses across the BID area. Your feedback, ideas and involvement will be essential in shaping how we deliver our priorities.

The next five years present exciting opportunities, as well as challenges, and we look forward to working with you to ensure Caterham Valley continues to thrive.
