Meet the Caterham Valley experts simplifying life’s more complicated issues
It’s often easy to focus on the exciting events and unique independent shops in a town, while taking those working away in their offices a little for granted – but many of them spend their days simplifying life’s more complicated issues to make things easier for the rest of us. Here we shine a light on some of Caterham Valley’s professional services and experts.
As you make your way from the supermarkets through Church Walk Shopping Centre to your favourite High Street stores, you may not have realised what a fascinating and varied bunch our town’s accountants, solicitors and quantity surveyors are and what a wealth of knowledge they boast.
For example, did you know that, while they may be dab hands at solving HMRC compliance needs and tax bills, Champ Consultants also host a regular business show on Ridge Radio and organise Caterham Food Festival. They moved into the Valley from Westway at the start of 2018, and it took them no time at all to settle in.
With the likes of UNL, Tax4Today and Wingate Financial Planning also getting figures in order, there’s no excuse not to sort your financial affairs this summer.
Meanwhile, overlooking the Caterham Rotary clock, you can’t miss Dollman & Pritchard solicitors’ striking offices. Originally founded in central London more than 130 years ago, they have been associated with our town for more than half a century. They offer a wide range of services, from family law to criminal defence. If you’ve got a problem that needs fixing, they’ll have the solution.
A little way down Croydon Road, you’ll also find Quantick Solicitors, who have been in Caterham Valley since the end of 2015. They may be a little younger in business terms, but their fresh approach to law has proven hugely popular.
Across the road, there’s Jade Insurance and their director Martin Kemp (no, not that one…). Established 16 years ago, they handle the insurance needs of commercial and corporate entities, sports clubs, charities and non profit organisations in the public and private sector to a gold (sorry, Martin!) standard.
Another of our town’s long established businesses, Huntley Cartwright, started life in 1985 and their team includes members of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Based on Harestone Valley Road, between Caterham Station and The Soper Hall, their practice has a broad portfolio featuring leisure, residential, heritage and health care projects, among others.
Founded in 1946, Croudace Homes is a privately owned house builder best known for its award-winning homes across the south east. Based on Tupwood Lane, they were awarded their sixth HBF 5 Star Home Builder Customer Satisfaction award in as many years in March.
In fact, we’re well set on the developer front with Land Genie based in Quadrant House and you may walk by one of their recent projects every day. Valley Place, a development of nine luxury and contemporary two bedroom apartments, some with some rather snazzy balconies, is found right in the heart of things on Croydon Road.
If you’re looking to move home this year, then Caterham Valley has a number of highly-rated estate agents. With Cubitt & West, Rayners, Martin & Co, Trust Homes, Barker Stone, Bairstow Eves, Park & Bailey and Hamptons International all in the Valley, you’re sure to find the home of your dreams whether you’re looking to buy, rent, downsize, upsize or just fancy a change.
