Join us in Caterham Valley for a pop-up food and drink experience
Caterham Valley will be hosting a pop-up local produce market every Saturday for four weeks starting September 29, 10am to 4pm.
Church Walk Shopping Centre will be turned into a mouth-watering hub of delicious artisan food and drink, hand-picked from across Surrey and Sussex.
Shoppers can meet the producers, all members of food and drink network Local Food Britain, and try before they buy.
Each Saturday will showcase a selection of local products from handmade fudge and Surrey’s own gin to speciality preserves, local cheeses, artisan breads, freshly roasted coffee, craft beer and much more. The market will have a changing selection of six to eight producers each week offering tasty treats for the weekend, gifts for the food lover and even early edible goodies for Christmas.
Award-winning food
Kicking off the first market on Saturday September 29 will be perfect food partners High Weald Dairy with its award-winning cheeses and West Fisher Winery. Briscoe’s Jellies will be bringing its inspiring condiments, including the two which have recently won Great Taste Awards stars.
Cake lovers will be spoilt for choice at the Ridiculously Rich stall, and Hill House Farm’s rare breed pork joints, homemade sausages, bacon and sausage rolls will have cooked breakfast and the Sunday roast sorted.
Sample Bubble & Twist’s innovative cordials – children will love trying the new bubblegum trial flavour – and perk up with Surrey-based roastery, Chimney Fire Coffee.
Dates for your diary
Organised by the Caterham Business Improvement District (known as Caterham Valley for You) the markets will be hosted on Saturdays September 29, and October 6, 13, and 20 between 10am and 4pm.
“The markets will give Caterham Valley shoppers a unique chance to savour produce made right on their doorstep, try new taste sensations and pick up inspirational food ideas,” said chairman of Caterham Valley for You, Andrew Browne.
The local produce market is the first of two initiatives this Autumn from Caterham Valley for You. On Friday and Saturday, October 26 and 27, young witches and wizards are being invited to swoop into the town for some free trick or treating fun.
Meet the producers at our market and then explore the shops in our town. Built up an appetite? Well here are a few ideas for eating out in Caterham Valley.
